Erik Sohn, P.E., ProFM

Erik Sohn, P.E. is a Structural Engineer and the Facility Condition Assessment (FCA) Team Leader for the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) contract. With more than 19 years of assessment and forensic investigation experience, Sohn joined PSFEI in 2015. His responsibilities include structural, thermal performance, and building enclosure condition assessments of new and historically significant buildings and structures. He has extensive experience in the assessment and forensic investigation of building enclosure and structural failures. Prior to joining PSFEI, Sohn was employed by Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc., where his work included the investigation, repair, and design of various building types to address bulk rainwater penetration, condensation, and moisture-related deterioration of above-and below-grade building enclosure materials and systems. Additionally, he served on a team of engineers and architects that utilized industrial rope access techniques to survey the exterior, and interior, of buildings throughout the country. Sohn holds a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering and a Master of Engineering in Architectural Engineering, both from Penn State. He is ProFM certified and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Washington, D.C.
