Building Operator Certification Course

Together with the Pennsylvania College of Technology, the Penn State Facilities Engineering Institute (PSFEI) presents:

Building Operator Certification (BOC)

June 4—26, 2019

The Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center (and online)

With a focus on energy efficiency, the BOC course is a comprehensive training for facilities operations, management, and maintenance personnel. Studies have found that, on average, BOC graduates save their organizations about 2.5 percent a year on energy use.

A limited number of seats are available, on a first-come, first-served basis. The price per person is $1,895, which includes instruction, material costs, lunch, and refreshments. An optional fee in the amount of $285 per person is required to take the certification exam.

June 4—5, 2019: BOC 1001/Energy Efficient Operation of HVAC Systems (two-day session)

June 6, 2019: BOC 1002/Measuring and Benchmarking Energy Performance

June 10, 2019 (two short sessions): BOC 1003/Efficient Lighting Fundamentals (ONLINE) 

June 17, 2019 (two short sessions): BOC 1005/Indoor Environmental Quality (ONLINE)

June 25, 2019: BOC 1004/HVAC Controls Fundamentals

June 26, 2019: BOC 1006 & 1009/Opportunities & Building Scope for Low-Cost Operational Improvement 

All in-person classes are held from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
