Sophia Mazurczyk, MPS, PMP, CSM

Sophia Mazurczyk is an IT manager for the Penn State Facilities Engineering Institute (PSFEI). Her responsibilities include financial planning and budget management for the IT group, oversight of the software development projects using SDLC, and management of daily IT operations and staff. Mazurczyk also provides technical leadership to teams, ensures continuous quality products/services improvements, develops user and technical documentation, and manages internal and external technology-related communication with clients and vendors. Mazurczyk joined PSFEI in 2011. Prior to joining PSFEI, Mazurczyk held a number of technical, management, and consulting positions. As a consultant, her primary role was to interface with C-level management at large corporations to bring about technological advancements and business improvements within their operations. Mazurczyk holds a Master of Science in information sciences — cybersecurity and information assurance from Penn State; a Bachelor of Science in management information systems from the University of Massachusetts; and an Associate of Science in business computer programming from Bergen Community College. She is a certified PMI Project Management Professional (PMP). She has earned a Penn State Post Baccalaureate Certificate in information systems cybersecurity and the ITIL Foundation. She also holds certificates in Scrum Master, Advance SQL, SharePoint and electronic records management.
