Steven Carpenter

Steven Carpenter is a Facility Condition Assessment Specialist with the Penn State Facilities Engineering Institute (PSFEI). Primarily serving the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA), he reviews existing building plans across the Commonwealth to determine the quality of the building elements, which are critical to the builder condition assessment program. His responsibilities include assessing the conditions of various aspects of facilities, such as building envelope, electrical systems, environmental conditions and structural components. Prior to joining PSFEI, Carpenter was employed by the Larson Design Group, where he was the youngest construction document (CD) lead in his retail group. As the CD lead, he was in charge of producing full sets of construction documents from start to finish, including permits. He holds a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering from Alfred State College of Technology.
