Stan Bierly is an HVAC Mechanical Engineer with the Penn State Facilities Engineering Institute (PSFEI). His responsibilities include providing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and energy management technical assistance to Commonwealth of Pennsylvania historic sites and agencies; assisting with project design review and management; overseeing mechanical and building automation systems; performing planning and feasibility studies; troubleshooting system issues; and conducting surveys, energy audits, and life cycle cost studies. Bierly holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State and has over 20 years of experience in the HVAC industry. Before joining PSFEI, Bierly spent over 18 years as the Business Unit Manager at the Bierly Group, Inc., where he generated proposals, developed HVAC system designs, and provided technical and management support to field staff and customers. Prior to that, he worked for 10 years at the international company Alfa Laval Inc., holding various engineering, management, and project management roles within their ASME plate heat exchanger operations.
